  • Kwitee to feature Yinka Davies in ‘The Man Kwitee’ concert

    Trumpeter Kwitee will later this month host fans and friends at a tribute concert at the popular Ember Creek, Oniru in Lagos. Tagged ‘The Man Kwitee: A Tribute to Louis Armstrong’, the event which holds on Sunday, August 26, 2018 will also have Yinka Davies and other artistes performing.

    Kwitee, who hails from Abia State, will display his creative ability as he performs with his live band, Kwitee And The Cosmos alongside Yinka Davies who will be putting her sonorous energy into the concert. Other guest artistes include Dunnie and Maka.

    Kwitee said “guests should get ready for surprises as the night of The Man Kwitee: A Tribute to his mentor, Louis Armstrong promises to keep the audience at the edge if their seats as various creative performances hold sway.”

    Born Okwi Godwin Iguwe, Kwitee was born and brought up in Warri, Delta State. He started his musical career at the age of 9 as a percussionist before he became a front-line drummer at the age 11. The bearded dude has worked with great musicians such as; Dr. Ron Kenoly, Lionel Peterson, Tiwa Savage, Wande Coal, Patoranking, Brymo.

  • Yinka Davies for ‘Isale Eko’ stage play

    Following the recent announcement that Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode will be celebrated through song and dance in the anticipated stage play, ‘Isale Eko’, Yinka Davies is set to come on board the crew.

    The singer will  debut the ‘Isale Eko’ theme song ,‘Iye,’ at the command performance of the three day extravaganza which is billed for viewing in June at the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.

    According to the Executive Producer of ‘Isale Eko’, Mr. Edgar Joseph, who is also an investment banker, the play which touches the very essence of Nigerian heritage and would be streamed live has been drawing the attention of stakeholders.

    “Already, major Brands like Wema Bank who are the Main bankers to the production, Century Group, Amstel Malt, ARM Investment Managers, AXAMansard and The Nook, a recently debuted lifestyle platform, have all jumped on the wagon with many more showing very enthusiastic interest,” he said.

    The play stars actor and presenter, Yemi Shodimu, actress Omowunmi Dada and former Tinsel Star, Data Jaja while introducing Chantal Edgar in a major turn out.

    The play’s Executive Producer, Mr. Edgar Joseph, said ‘Isale Eko’ provides a strong platform for social cohesion. He also said that this time, the play would witness a twist that would see its main character go into a trance in 14th century Lagos and emerge in 2018 Lagos touring  strategic points with a view of highlighting socio-economic opportunities which make Lagos the economic melting pot that it is today.

    Governor Ambode was born on June 14, 1963. He was a civil servant for 27 years and a financial consultant before he ran for public office as Governor of Lagos State in 2015 and won.

    Versatile artiste and judge of reality show, Nigerian Idol, Yinka Davies is expected to thrill guests at the launching of Edak Willie Empowerment Foundation, book presentation and documentary film screening which holds on Thursday April 7, at Nigeria Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), Victoria Island, Lagos, in celebration of World Health Day.

    According to Willie, the producer of the popular television magazine programme, Edak Willie Show, the book presentation and documentary are on Lassa fever.

    “It is a Lassa Fever/Environmental Hygiene Sensitization Workshop for young Nigerians. It is organised by Edak Willie Empowerment Foundation,” she said.

    “Yinka Davies and Albert Kanu will perform.”

    She added that the Royal Father of the day is HRM Oba Dokun Thompson, The Olooni of Eti-Oni, Osun State.

    The speakers, according to her, include Commissioner of Health Lagos State, Dr. Jide Idris, Commissioner of Health, Akwa Ibom State, Dr. Dominic Ukpong, Commissioner of Health, Bayelsa State, Dr. Ayibatonye Owei, Commissioner of Health Ekiti State, Dr. Olurotimi Ojo, and Hon. Abike Dabiri Erewa, SSA on Foreign Affair and the Diaspora to President Buhari. Others are Dr. Charles Elikwu, Department of Microbiology, Babcock UTH, Dr. Kemi Odukoya, Consultant Comm. Health Physician, LUTH, Mr. Udom Inoyo, Executive Director Exxon Mobil.

    The event, she noted is in line with what she is doing with Edak Willie Show, a 30 minutes TV magazine designed to educate its viewers on health and lifestyle issues.

    Lagosians are in for an awe-inspiring experience, as Timi Dakolo, Yinka Davies, Gordons, Ice Nweke and others join forces for the Christmas edition of Love is the Musical.

    The magical theatrical event which will hold at the Eko Convention Centre on Saturday, December 27 promises a first-class Christmas edition which will thrill the guests even more that the last edition.

    The last edition saw guest appearances from media personality, Mo Abudu, Julius Agwu, Noble Igwe among others.

    “This edition is majorly in response to the demand we got from the public after we held the first one. Many people thought it was the best show, of which it was, and asked not to be let out of the fun. Hence, the reason we are putting this edition,” said Nweke

    “Dance is the best way to express your emotions and feelings; Love is the Musical will showcase the wonderful elements of Christmas as the season is about love,” he added.

    The event will be hosted by TV personality Ill Rhymz with guest performances from Ranti Ihimoyan, Donna the Poet, Efe Paul and Sasu, Lolo Eremie and Frank Konwea.

    The event is put together by Limitless Mind Africa in conjunction with Beat FM, Naija FM, Classic FM, Cool FM, Wazobia FM, Ebonylife TV, BHM Group, Hip TV and Oracle Experience Limited.

    COMEDIAN, Fagade Olufemi Ademola, popularly known as Omobaba, was spotted on the runway at a fashion show dubbed Fashion and Music Expo – FAME, held at the Latter House Church, Ogba. The articulate comedian reportedly displayed some brilliance despite being a newbie in this venture as he rocked elegant traditional attire, cat walking his way into the hearts of the audience, who seemed delighted.

    Apart from his untapped modeling skills, Omobaba also took the crowd on a rib-cracking joke-filled ride as budding music act, Iyibiye, complemented the show with an enjoyable performance. Commencing with a 30mins talk on fashion, the event gave participants an avenue to learn about trending wears and appropriate outfits to wear and to where.

    According to the organizers, Latter House Church and B&A Consultancy, the event is aimed at promoting indigenous culture through good fashion sense. Clothing lines and brands present at the event include Euphoria Clothing, T Jegz Clothing and Ankara Freak.
