Team Nigeria UK kids  relish encounter with Aribo

Super Eagles and Southampton midfielder, Joe Aribo had fun with Player Development Camp UK an initiative of Team Nigeria UK Project founded and funded by David Doherty an aspirant in the 2022 NFF Election.

Southampton is in partnership with Team Nigeria UK to produce, nurture and manage tomorrow’s stars of the beautiful sport who will combine sports with education.

 

Kids of Team Nigeria UK got the opportunity to watch Premier League live game between Southampton and Leeds United which ended in a 2-2 draw at St Mary’s Stadium.

Shortly after the game Aribo and his family made up of his parents and sisters met with the players to exchange pleasantries which boosted the morale of the excited kids.

It was indeed a special moments for all the students from Nigeria, who left with so much talking points and memories from that amazing experience and encounter with Aribo who scored his first Premier League goal at home to open his goal accounts for the Saints.

His goal created a super electric atmosphere was which put Southampton back in the game and few minutes later the second goal came to earn the Saints a point.

The founder of Team Nigeria UK, David Doherty seized the opportunity presented by the game to appreciate the management of Southampton among other partner of the Project.

“On behalf of Team Nigeria UK, I wish to say a very big thank you to our partners particularly the board and management of Premier League side, Southampton FC for such an amazing experience for the kids and all members of staffs on ground.

“We look forward to greater things to come out of our partnership. We are working assiduously to ensure we produce great athletes in all fields of sports who will equally excel in their academic pursuits.

“It’s a dream to have excellent Computer Scientists or sound Medical Doctors who will also be Olympic gold medalists or World champions in various fields of sports. That’s our goal and we are focused on achieving this,” he added.
