Terrorists have killed two people at the Abdulsalam Abubakar General Hospital in Gulu, Lapai local government area of Niger State and kidnap 20 medical staff.
The Nation learnt the terrorists stormed the hospital around 2 am on Tuesday, shooting into the air and.operated unrestricted.
Those abducted include the Head of clinical services, head of hematology, the wife of the head of nursing and his two daughters, wife and daughter of the Chief Pharmacist amongst others.

It was learnt that most of the staff and their families resided in the staff quarters of the hospital.
Lapai local government area has been one of the most affected by terror attacks in the State.
Niger Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello has directed the Joint Security Taskforce to look into ways of bringing an end to the incessant armed banditry, kidnappings and wanton attacks on communities in Lapai Local Government Area.

The Governor described the attack on the Gulu General hospital as callous, inhuman and condemnable saying it was regrettable.
“We are deeply concerned about the recent rise in armed banditry and kidnappings in Gulu communities when we are rejoicing and consolidating in the successes so far recorded in other affected areas, but as a responsible government we’ll not rest on our oars until we triumph over evil”, he said.
The Governor announced that the State Government is already collaborating and supporting the Joint Security Apparatus in its drive to launch a sporadically coordinated onslaught to overcome the bandits and sanitise the area.
