Nigeria’s widest circulating newspaper, The Nation, is to hold its first ‘National Forum On The Economy’ on December 14th and 15th in Lagos.
A statement by the Chairman of the Organising Committee, Mr. Sam Omatseye, said the programme which was originally planned for November 26th and 27th, is shifted to the new date to accommodate newly appointed ministers of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
According to him, the Forum is conceived as The Nation’s viable and result-oriented response to complement Federal Government’s efforts for rapid results in its agenda to reposition and develop the economy.
It is an all-embracing Forum featuring conference sessions on “National Growth Through Inter-Regional Cooperations” and exhibitions on “Inter and Intra Regional Products, Competencies and Trades”, Mr. Omatseye explained.
The Forum is being planned by The Nation in collaboration with CEEDEE Resources and has the Lagos State Government as the host. It will bring together all stakeholders, the federal and state governments, organised private sector and the general public.
“The focus of the Forum is a tactical shift from earlier approaches, and such a focus is best propelled by a dynamic assembly of stakeholders with realistic intentions to isolate and tackle the common problems facing the nation and the states” Omatseye said.
