The Nation’s journalists shortlisted for regional media awards

Two of The Nation journalists have been shortlisted for the 2022 West Africa Media Excellence Conference and Awards (WAMECA) organised by the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA)

Associate Editor and multi-award winner, Olatunji Ololade and Gbenga Ogundare were among over 20 finalists shortlisted across 16 countries in West Africa.

The organisers of the regional awards in July announced that 950 entries were received.

“Among the 950 entries received for ten different categories including Human Rights, Investigative, Anti-Corruption, Health reporting and the two new categories, Women Empowerment, and Migration reporting, which were introduced for the Awards this year,” Kwaku Krobea Asante, Programme Officer, MFWA, said.

The winners of the categories will be announced at the award ceremony scheduled to hold on October 22 in Accra, Ghana.
