Three men honour Abe with trek

Three men, Nuhu Tenimu, Monday Joseph and Blessing Peter have trekked from Port Harcourt to Bera in Gokana Local Government of Rivers State to honour and congratulate Sen. Magnus Abe on his victory in the rerun.

The youth trekked over 35 miles to visit Abe, the All Progressives Congress’ (APC’s) candidate, who defeated Sen. Olaka Nwogu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

They said they deemed it fit to honour Abe for his commitment to humanity.

Tenimu said: “We have been trekking since yesterday. We left Mgbuoba, Port Harcourt, at 6a.m. on Wednesday and arrived here in Ogoni at 10 a.m. on Thursday.

“This is how we think we can celebrate Senator Abe for the good things he is doing for the people. We want him to do more for us.

“We encountered challenges on the road that would have made us to stop the trek, but we overcame them. Here we are celebrating a man who loves his people.”

Responding on behalf of Sen. Abe, Mr. Kadilo Kabari thanked the young men for their effort.

He said: “Sen. Abe welcomes you to his country home, Bera in Gokana. What you have done is great. It shows your commitment.

”You believe in the qualities of the senator-elect. For showing this kind of love to him, he will continue to contribute to the state’s development.”
