Three policemen have been killed in Ebonyi State.
They were shot dead on Monday night by gunmen at a checkpoint in front of a police station along the Enugu-Abakaliki highway, a police source said.
The assailants took them unawares and opened fire on them, the source said, adding that the gunmen came in a Hummer bus.
“The remains of the three police victims have been deposited at a mortuary in Abakaliki.
About 10 policemen were gunned down in Enugu in two attacks by gunmen who stormed checkpoints last week.
Police spokesperson, Loveth Odah, confirming the incident but said she could not give details of casualty figures until after a visit to the incident scene.
