Thugs yesterday attacked the secretariat of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at Twon Brass in Brass Local Government of Bayelsa State.
The thugs were said to have torched part of the building and burnt the flag of PDP, provoking fears of mayhem in the violent-prone island.
A team of PDP leaders, comprising the senator representing Bayelsa East, Ben Bruce; Caretaker Chairman Victor Isaiah, and Assemby Deputy Speaker Abraham Ingonbere, briefed reporters in Yenagoa on the development.
Isaiah insisted APC thugs burnt down the secretariat and opened fire on policemen, who came to apprehend them.
He said: “APC thugs burnt down the PDP secretariat in Brass Local Government. As the chairman of the council, l called security agencies, the DPO and his men. They came out to trace who was responsible for it.
“One Abiye, who is not from Brass but from Rivers State and has been disturbing the peace of Brass local government, led a group of boys and opened fire on the security operatives”.
