Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Olatunji Bello has described the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential standard bearer, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as “an uncommon legend and God’s unusual gift to Nigeria, whose type does not often come in generations”.

He urged Nigerians to ensure that Tinubu’s uncommon and sterling endowments do not elude the nation, particularly the poor and the downtrodden, whose interest had been the cornerstone of his political philosophy and the age-long struggle over the years.

Addressing members of the Mainland Independent Group (MIG), a campaign group for the actualisation of Tinubu’s presidency, at Lion Gate Hotel, Sabo, a suburb of Yaba, Lagos, the APC chieftain, who is also the patron of the group, urged them to spare no effort towards a vigorous mobilisation of the electorate to the progressive cause of Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

He advised them to obtain their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) and turn out en masse to vote, unlike the last presidential election in 2019 in which Lagos State recorded one of the lowest voters turn-out in the whole federation, despite its rating as having one of the highest concentrations of registered voters in the country.

Bello added: “This must certainly not repeat itself at this crucial time, when progressive citizens in Nigeria and in diaspora, are desperately looking up to Tinubu as the messiah, divinely ordained to emancipate the poor and lift the nation to unprecedented heights in its annals of existence.”

Founder of MIG, Alhaji Ibrahim Alao Megida, thanked Bello for initiating the idea leading to the formation of the campaign group and for providing resources for vigorous mobilisation across the state.

Other speakers include Chief Abiodun Kaka; an industrialist and economist, Abiodun Folajimi; senior lecturer at the University of Lagos, Dr Adetoun Adenuga; and Imam Yahya Sulaiman.

Market men and women, artisans who are among the diverse cross-section of the group, also extolled the virtues of Tinubu and Bello’s financial support towards the actualisation of his presidential vision.

They urged other supporters of Tinubu in Lagos and across the federation to emulate Bello’s example in political mass mobilisation to make Tinubu’s victory a reality.
