Afro-hype artiste and events compere, Tobi Michael Adeyeye aka Toby Shang has unleashed his latest project, an EP featuring Naira Marley, Poco Lee and Rexxie

After building overwhelming anticipation, alongside having the biggest run ever by a hype man with topmost popular trending sounds on TikTok, a globally recognised single “Run this town”, and multiple features from various Afrobeats artists including Naira Marley, Mavins’ Crayon, Big Brother Naija winner Laycon and many more, eccentric hypeman Toby Shang releases his highly anticipated second extended playlist, “The Best” via his self-owned entertainment outlet Shang Dynasty and Azuri distro Nigeria.

He has described his sound as a blend of Afrobeat/Afro-fusion with a dynamic, exciting, and stimulating tone known as hype, therefore “Afro-Hype.”

His latest body of work, ‘The Best’ comes after Toby’s first EP, ‘Believe the Hype’, which was published in 2021.

The EP, which is now available on all digital streaming platforms with, ‘The Best’ as the opening track, provides a brief overview of how hype men had been dismissed as nothing more than noisemakers, and that no one, not even Toby Shang, would ever be successful in the industry.

It represents an advancement in Afro-hype, a genre popularised by hype men that blend Afrobeats/Afrofusion with a dynamic, engaging, and stimulating tone known as “Hype.”
