Transfers: Osimhen tops 10 most expensive Serie A  summer’s sales

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen topped the list of the ten most expensive Serie A players sold during the summer transfer window  according to a report by Football Italia

Napoli finally cashed in on  Osimhen this summer, who joined Galatasaray on a permanent basis after a successful loan spell in 2024-25. He had been available for €75m via the release clause in his contract. Galatasaray did not activate the release clause before it expired, but agreed to pay the €75m fee regardless.

With bonuses included, Tijjani Reijnders ranks second on the list after his big-money move to Manchester City at the beginning of the summer. Milan reportedly received a fixed fee of €57.7m, with a long list of bonus clauses that could eventually push the deal up to the €70m mark.

Italy international Mateo Retegui brought in €68m for Atalanta with his move to the Saudi Pro League. He left Atalanta for Al-Qadsiah, just one year after La Dea had purchased him from Genoa at a cost of €28m.

Dan Ndoye and Malick Thiaw both made the switch from Serie A to the Premier League this summer. The Switzerland international left Bologna to join Nottingham Forest at a cost of €45m including bonuses, while the German joined Newcastle for €40m, bonuses also included.

Sam Beukema, with his move from Bologna to Napoli at a cost of €31m, also makes it into the list of top 10 most expensive Serie A sales this summer.

Number seven on the list is an intriguing inclusion. Technically, Juventus spent €25m, plus ancillary fees of €3.1m to sign Nico Gonzalez from Fiorentina as part of their agreement after the Argentine’s loan spell last season. Nico has since been loaned out to Atletico Madrid for €1m, potentially rising to €2m, in a deal that also includes a €32m option to buy.

Finally, Theo Hernandez, Samuele Ricci and Roberto Piccoli were all sold for roughly the same price: €25m including bonuses. Theo left Milan after six years to join Al-Hilal, Ricci joined the Rossoneri from Torino, while Piccoli completed a late move from Cagliari to Fiorentina.
