Two students of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU), Abia State have been found dead in their room.
The roommates were simply identified as Decency and Victor.
There were speculations that the students may have died of food poisoning as Victor reportedly vomited blood while a whitish substance was seen in Decency’s nostril.
The sources said that it was the food that they ate before being found dead the next day.
The spokesperson of MOUAU, Adanma Odefa, confirmed the deaths but denied any knowledge of food poisoning
“We don’t know anything about eating food. All we know is that we found two students dead in their room.”
Has been any medical report on the cause of the death?
Odefa said, “The police have taken their bodies to the morgue and anything left is for the parents of the deceased. We have informed the families, so we are not talking about this.”
Police spokesman Geoffery Ogbonna did not take his calls nor did he reply text message sent to his mobile phone.
