Two nabbed for vandalising streetlight cables in Lagos

Officers of the Isheri Oshun Police Division have arrested two suspects caught while vandalising public infrastructure on Ijegun/Jakande Road in Lagos.

The suspects, identified as Jemilu Abdullahi and Samsondeen Isiaku, were apprehended by patrol officers while attempting to cut and remove streetlight cables yesterday.

According to a statement from the Lagos State Police Command, the suspects were arrested at the scene and are in custody.

“Two suspects, Jemilu Abdullahi ‘m’ and Samsondeen Isiaku ‘m’ while vandalising streetlight cables at Ijegun/Jakande Road. Investigation is ongoing. They will be charged to court accordingly,” the statement read.

Also, Isokoko Division police have arrested two men for vandalising roadside concrete barriers at Ile-Zik, near Ikeja.

The suspects, Peter James, 26, and Lesipi Adamu, 24, were caught while allegedly removing rods from the barriers.
