With the return of Victor Osimhen for full training with Napoli yesterday, there are strong indications that the Nigerian may return to coach Luciano Spalletti’s side tomorrow when the team host Ajax on Day Four of the UEFA Champions League (UCL) at the Maradona Stadium.
Osimhen has been out of action for Napoli since September 7 on Match Day One of the UCL when he copped a hamstring injury in Napoli’s 4-1 bashing of Liverpool at the Maradona Stadium and he had missed four Serie A matches for Napoli since then.
He was touted to return this weekend but was considered not fully fit by Spalletti.
But his return to full training yesterday at the SSCN Konami Training Center confirmed the full fitness of the Nigerian.
According to a report from camp of Napoli, Osimhen was involved in the team’s strength work, ball possession, and a small match and he featured in the whole session of the team training while defender Rrahmani had therapies and diagnostic tests that would be conducted on him today.
Meanwhile, UEFA has named German Felix Zwayer as the centre referee for the tie against Ajax while he will be assisted by his compatriots – Stefan Lupp and Marco Achmüller.
