•Stakeholders hold rally for APC presidential candidate
Groups based in Manchester, United Kingdom (UK), have come together to drum up support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima.
They are also backing Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat for re-election.
The diaspora convergence, comprising bodies, expressed their support at the weekend during their convergence on London.
Spokesman for Nigeria Diaspora for Asiwaju (NDA Manchester) David Adeoye said the convergence was borne out of the need for Asiwaju Tinubu to replicate what he did in Lagos State when he was the governor, to ensure all round development across the country.
He added that they started mobilising support for the APC standard-bearer since the beginning of the permanent voter cards (PVCs) registration, following their belief that Tinubu would improve the nation’s economy and citizens’ lives.
Adeoye said: “Asiwaju Tinubu is a progressive father of the nation. Besides that he has affiliation across the six geo-political zones of the country, he is also a man that has laboured for the progressive cause of our country. He has helped a lot of politicians and even professionals in the country.
“Now that he is coming out to vie for the president, Nigerians should see it as civic responsibility and ensure it becomes a reality.”
Stakeholders in businesses in Badagry, Lagos State, at the weekend organised a victory rally in support of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other candidates.
The rally took off at Badagry roundabout where stakeholders and supporters moved in buses with Tinubu’s posters and flyers.
Mr. Sesi Whingah, the House of Representatives candidate and Mr. Solomon Bonu, Lagos State House of Assembly candidate stayed inside the pick-up Hilux car, waving to the crowd.
The stakeholders and other members of the party toured communities in Badagry, including Gbaji, Seme, Apa, Ajido, Imeke, Aradagun, Mowo and Ibereko.
Alhaji Sulaiman Momoh, the chairman of the business stakeholders, said the rally was to show their support for Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu and other APC candidates in the coming general election.
He assured the people that the rally will be a continuous exercise until they get victory for Asiwaju Tinubu and others.
Alhaji Fatai Shokunbi, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a hotel, said the rally was to show their interest and support in ensuring victory for Asiwaju Tinubu and other APC candidates.
Chief Akeem Okanlawon, the Yoruba community leader and chairman, said he was impressed with the turnout of the people.
Alhaji Bisiriyu Fanu, former chairman, Association of Licensed Customs Agent, Seme branch, said the rally was to tell the APC government that they were in full support of Asiwaju Tinubu and others.
