Varsity immortalises ex-Labour Minister Ocholi

•200 students to graduate 

The late Minister of State for Labour James Ocholi (SAN) is among those to be honoured at the convocation of the Federal University, Lokoja (FUL), on Saturday.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Angela F. Miri, who addressed reporters at the mini campus in Adankolo, said 200 students will be admitted to degrees.

He said the school decided to immortalise the late minister to motivate people to pursue excellence and dedication to service.

According to her, the proposed School of Postgraduate Studies will be named after Ocholi, a decision she said has been communicated to the Federal Ministry of Education.

“We want to immortalise him. He was a good servant of the state, a good servant and illustrious son of this country. The Federal Ministry of Education has given us the go-ahead and our School of Postgraduate Studies will be named after him,” she added.

Others to be honoured include Dr Muhammadu Abali Muhammadu Idris, first chancellor of the university, Emir of Fika and Senator Tunde Ogbeha.
