Veteran broadcaster Alimi honoured at 80

Encomiums have been showered on veteran broadcaster, Aremo Taiwo Alimi, in Lagos, where his 80th birthday was celebrated.

A book, ‘Footprints in broadcasting’, written by Dr. Qasim Akinreti, former chairman of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos State Council, was unveiled at Combo Hall, LTV, Agidingbi.

It was reviewed by Prof. Saheed Timehin of Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo.

The event was chaired by Director General, Voice of Nigeria, Mallam Jibrin Baba Ndace. Information and National Orientation Minister, Mohammed Idris, was represented by Mohammed Yauwa.

At the ceremony were Dr. Owolabi Abass, an insurer, Rector of Nigeria Institute of Journalism, Ogba, Gbenga Adefaye, General Manager of Lagos Radio, Jide Lawal, Dr. Olayinka Adagun, Ganiyu Mudashiru, Moreem Chuagbo, leader of Online Publishers, and Motunrayo Alaka of Wole Soyinka Investigative Journalism Centre.
