Lagos State Commander of the Vigilance Group of Nigeria (VGN), Otunba James Udoma, has lauded the Lagos State House of Assembly for the passage of two bills and signed into law by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to tackle insecurity in the state.
The two laws are: the Property Protection Law or Law Against Land Grabbers and the Neighbourhood Watch Agency Law.
According to Udoma, the two laws would go a long way in addressing the security threat posed by land grabbers or Ajagungbales in the state.
The legislators, he said, really know the problems of the people and have their interest at heart.
He said: “The laws will allow every security organisation register their interest in securing Lagos. When you look at it very well, you come to realise that most of these crimes are perpetrated mostly at the community level, so if they come up with an idea that wants to create a structure that will monitor both community and the urban, you can see that they really know what they are doing.”
