Lonadek Global Services, through its Vital Voices Global annual Mentoring Walk, empowered not fewer than 50 girls to foster meaningful connection that contributes to personal and professional growth.

The walk kicked off from Lonadek’s office to Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) campus, in sensitization and recruitment of about 100 female students, into mentoring programmes to help them navigate their dreams in a male-dominated industry.

The programme brought together, established women leaders who took turn to mentor, empower and network with the girls.

The walk which was held in commemoration of this year’s International Women’s Day celebration, also featured impactful discussions, platform for women to gain guidance and support in their respective fields, and motivational talks.

Principal Consultant, Lonadek Global Services, Dr Ibilola Amao, urged women to have a clear vision of their dreams, and ensure they achieve it

“Have a clear vision. Know what you want to achieve and work towards it. Don’t wait for opportunities. Create your own opportunities and take charge of your future. Build a support network. Surround yourself with people who support and encourage you. Step out of your comfort zone. Be willing to take risks and challenge yourself to achieve your goals. Take control of your future.

“The Global Mentoring Walks are an opportunity to highlight the importance of women’s leadership and to accelerate the impact of women leaders through mentoring. The annual Mentoring Walk brings together established women leaders and emerging women leaders to walk together in their communities. As they walk, they discuss their professional challenges and successes and establish a mentoring relationship in which the seasoned leader guides, advises, and supports her peers.” she said.

Coordinator of Human Capital Development Initiative at Lonadek Global Services, Mr. Samuel Jackson, reiterated that the Firm is bent on transforming local talents into becoming global assets.

“We keep encouraging more women to soar and believe in themselves by building in them, skills that would enable them to excel. Women can accelerate in STEM by first removing the barriers that restrict women from striving in that sector. They should seek mentorship and embark on research,” he said

Chief Operating Officer of the Firm, said that “It’s good to see young ladies have the opportunity to talk to women who understand where they’re coming from. It’s wonderful to look out to these young Ladies.”
