The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Akwa Ibom Northwest, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has accused some prominent Annang sons of leading campaigns of calumny against him.
Akpabio raised the alarm yesterday during a meeting with the Afe Annang, the Apex socio-cultural organisation of the Annang ethnic group. He urged the body to call a former petroleum minister, Chief Don Etiebet and his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) opponent, Emmanuel Enoidem, to order.
Akpabio accused Etiebet and Enoidem of ‘ingratitude and spewing acrimony among the people, with the intention of de-marketing him in tomorrow’s election’. He, however, expressed confidence of winning the election.
