Warri Wolves Football Club have been crowned champions of the 2025 Nigerian National League (NNL) after a dramatic 3-2 win over Wikki Tourists of Bauchi in the final match played at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba over the weekend.

The Seasiders, as they are fondly called, delivered a blistering first-half performance, storming to a three-goal lead through goals from Lateef Yusuf, Igbunu Evwierhurhoma, and Efe Yarherhe—all within the opening 31 minutes.

Wikki Tourists mounted a spirited comeback, with Mahmood Aliyu reducing the deficit just before halftime and Wonderson adding a second early in the second half. Despite the intense pressure, Warri Wolves held firm to seal the victory and claim the 2025 NNL championship.

The pulsating final marked the conclusion of the NNL Super 8 tournament held from July 5 to 12 and was attended by top dignitaries, including Delta State Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, represented by his deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, and former Minister of Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare.

Other clubs that featured in the Super 8 competition included Doma United FC, Barau FC, Yobe Desert Stars FC, Kun Khalifat FC, Crown FC, and Osun United FC.

With the win, Warri Wolves not only secured a N5 million prize but also earned promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), marking their return to top-flight football after more than four years in the lower division.
