Wealth creation should be included in school curriculum-Siju Iluyomade

The convener of Arise Walk for life Dr Siju Iluyomade has urged the Federal Government to include wealth creation in schools curriculum.

Iluyomade made this call during the official flag off of Arise 2022 programs in Lagos recently.

She noted that Africa is lagging behind in wealth creation which according to her slows down the economy.

Iluyomade said that the wealth creation curriculum in schools would raise young entrepreneurs early thereby increasing exports.

“There is something that is missing in Nigeria, creativity in how to create wealth. Wealth creation is something that needs to come Into the curriculum of schools, we need to teach our children early how to become entrepreneurs and do things which could be exported.

“For instance, soap makers can export their goods to west African regions and not stop at Balogun market or Seme border, push until you can get to the whole of Africa with this soap, Coca-Cola did it. Africans are dulling their brains, it’s not about the government paying you salary, please get up and create wealth, it’s important that you expand the scope and area of your influence and trade.

“All of us will not sit down and wait for oil money. Nollywood and the music industry have created wealth to the extent that if you step into anywhere in Europe it’s being played. When you hear our songs you will be very proud of what those youngsters have done.”

The 2022 Arise Walk For Life kicks off on October 14 with a football match at the Mobolaji Johnson Stadium which will be graced by notable football legends like Daniel Amokachi, Augustine Eguavoen, Samson SiaSia, Uche Okechukwu, Victor Ikpeba, Peter Rufai and Victor Osimhen while the walk holds the next day 15th.
