‘We’re tired of recycled leadership’

The Chairman Board of Trustees of a political pressure group “We2GedaNG,” Alhaji Ibrahim Hussaini Abdulkarim, has expressed deep concern over the continuous recycling of the leadership in the country, with a strong call on the youths to come out and lead the political space.

Abdulkarim, who took a swipe at the dwindling economy and apparent lack of development of Nigeria, stated that unless the youths and upright Nigerians halt the process of recycling of leadership in the country, Nigeria may remain stagnated.

Speaking at the official launching of the group for North Central in Jos, Plateau State, Alhaji Abdulkarim, who said the problems of Nigeria have remained the same and unresolved since 1999, added that those at the helms of affairs since then have done nothing to ameliorate the situation.

“It is high time Nigerians, especially the youths have a rethink about the leadership of this country, politics is for development not to showcase tribe or any sentiments. It should be that you want to be in politics to drive policies to create a new system where Nigerians will be comfortable.

“Respect is reciprocal. If those in leadership want us to respect them they should do the right things. It has been the same set of people in governance for more than two decades, without any development. The problems of the country remain the same and unattended to. The youths are deliberately being left out of the leadership structure in Nigeria”

According to him, most of those in leadership positions had access to basic needs of life when they were growing up but simply refused to develop such institutions, adding that the present system breed sentiments and further segregates Nigeria along dangerous lines.

“It has been the same problems without solution since 1999. As I am talking today, ASUU is on strike. As I am talking today, we are queuing to get fuel. As I am talking today, we have an epileptic power supply and they want us to continue this way. We will not do that mistake again come 2023.”

In his opening remark, Hon Shina Peller, who was represented by Hon Daniel Adebo Jonathan, encouraged Nigerian youths to shun the politics of lies and falsehood, as well as politics of money.

He charged the youths to come together for a better  Nigeria adding at the we2geda campaign and project is to create awareness for all Nigerians who desire change and a better Nigeria.
