Why I changed my name to Khaleedthefirst

Rising Afrobeat artist Khaleed has announced a change of name on his social media platforms.

The London-born music act informed his fans worldwide that he would no longer be referred to as ‘Khaleed’ but ‘Khaleedthefirst.’

Sharing the reason for the name change, Khaleedthefirst said, “My name from birth is “Khalid” the double (E) you see in between was gotten from my surname and tribal name Sul(e)iman and Chibuik(e)m. So, adding “THEFIRST” to my name Khaleed is my branding and I feel this is what I use in differentiating myself from other senior colleagues like Khalid the singer, DJ Khaled, and lastly Khaled. So, with this, you see there are a lot of Khalids but I won’t run away from it because it’s my birth name is Khalid Suleiman Chibuikem.”

Speaking on his latest project, Khaleedthefirst revealed that he recently released a remix of his 2021 hit single ‘Top Boy’ with Abuja’s top-rated rap act, Odumodublvck.
