NIGERIAN Youth and Diaspora Forum for Tinubu yesterday launched an e-campaign platform in Lagos to support the presidential ambition of All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.
The group, led by Tito Phillips, and its Europe Coordinator Adeniyi Sanusi, vowed to mobilise five million voters for the frontline contender.
Its spokesman, Dr. Ajibola Abayomi, described Tinubu as the answer in next year’s election, urging Nigerians to choose wisely.
At the unveiling of the platforms in Lagos, former House of Representatives member Lanre Odubote explained why the former governor deserved the APC ticket. .
At a lecture on the forum’s intervention for sustainable leadership beyond 2023, he recalled that Tinubu played a major role in forging understanding among legacy parties that fused together into the ruling party in 2014.
He said: “Tinubu has been able to gather talents for the work of development in Lagos. He will do the same, if he becomes the president… ”
Odubote described the eminent politician as a lover of youths, recalling that between 1999 and 2007 as governor, he appointed youths into his government and designed programmes targeted at them.
Philips hailed Tinubu’s qualities and record, saying he raised internally generated revenue from N600 million to N40 billion.
He said the foundation he laid made Lagos to become the fifth economy in Africa.
Philips praised Tinubu for evolving a succession pattern that led to the discovery and fielding of competent people as governors.
He added:”Tinubu is an epitome of performance-based democracy, a democracy based on result and not promises. We are mobilising youths across digital platforms to support him.
“We will release 70 facts about Tinubu to mobilise the youths. We are targeting five million votes for Jim. We will engage in a knowledge-driven campaign. We will invest in campaign materials. We are confident that he will win…”
