Wike kicks off second roads’ work

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has launched the second phase of the reconstruction of Port Harcourt township roads, to improve residents’ lives.

He said the project would enhance the economy of densely populated areas.

Wike said his administration contracted Julius Berger Nigeria PLC for the second phase because it believed there was need for durable jobs in the suburbs.

He urged the contractor to employ youths from Port Harcourt for the project.

The governor said: “I’m doing this for the township because the residents supported me during campaign. This is a symbiotic  relationship.”

The first phase of the Port Harcourt  township roads  covered  Borikiri and Diobu suburbs.
