A 46-year-old man, Osaremwinda Omobude Idumwonyi, has allegedly stabbed his lover to death for finding condom in her bag.
The deceased, a single mother of three, was allegedly stabbed with a knife three times in her mother’s room at 13, Ehiyoboy Street, off Aifuwa Street, off Upper Sakponba Road in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government of Edo State.
She was said to have been killed a few hours after she left her lover’s home, where she passed the night.
Sources said the suspect told the police that he killed his lover in self defence.
He was quoted as saying it was his lover, who picked a knife to stab him when an argument ensued, “but I overpowered her and stabbed her.”
The deceased was taken to hospital where she died.
The Nation learnt the police recovered the knife in the suspect’s kitchen.
Spokesman Chidi Nwabuzor said: “We are investigating the incident.”
Last week, a 19-year-old, Junior Omo Shaba, allegedly killed his 18-year-old girlfriend, Matilda Odiri, and dumped her body by the roadside.
