Lagos flood

The installation of precast concrete culvert across Metal Box Road in Ogba, Lagos State, began yesterday. The government announced a week-long traffic diversion on the Oba Ogunji Road in the axis to execute the project.

The diversion will be on till July 5.

Commissioner for Transportation Frederic Oladeinde said the precast concrete culvert will provide lasting solutions to flooding experienced in the area. He urged motorists to use Acme Road, Wempco, Akilo and Ijaiye Roads to connect their desired destinations ‘as the Metal Box Road will be barricaded from traffic’.

Oladeinde also affirmed that men of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) will be on ground to manage traffic and minimise inconveniences.
