‘10,000 constables will be deployed in their councils’

Ekiti State Police Commissioner Mr. Tunde Mobayo has said the 10,000 constables to be recruited will be deployed to work in their local governments.

He spoke on Wednesday in Ado-Ekiti on the sidelines of the ongoing screening for recruitment of constables into the force.

The CP, who the command’s spokesman, Sunday Abutu, spoke on behalf, said the step would help in curbing crimes in the communities.

He said the development was also borne out of the determination of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, to nip the wave of crimes across the country in the bud.

According to him, the personnel would have more knowledge about their terrain more than people from other states.
