Sixteen suspected cultists have been taken into police custody in Niger State.

They were reportedly arrested in a lodge in Lapai area during a Black Axe celebration of July 7, also dubbed 7/7).

Police spokesman Wasiu Abiodun said the suspects were aged between 21 and 28.

They are said to be university students and freshly graduated ones.

Hemp, an axe, and a concoction of hard drugs, mong other items were reportedly recovered from them.
