The Terlumun Ikya Campaign Organisation (TICO) has debunked media reports that the All Progressives Congress APC, Benue State chapter has agreed on a consensus candidate for the governorship position.
The Director of Media and Publicity, Terlumun Ikya Campaign Organisation, Bob Terfa Jiji Esq, in a press statement made available to The Nation on Friday in Makurdi stated that “APC is yet to decide on consensus candidate in Benue State.”
Bob Jija said the electoral law is clear on how consensus can be arrived at but in the case of Benue APC, the party is yet to call any meeting and all aspirants are going about their consultations with hope of participating in the primaries.”.
“Very soon Terver Ikya, who is a leading APC governorship aspirant, will round up his consultations in all the three senatorial districts and pick up his nomination form in preparation for primaries.”
He called on their supporters to remain calm and disregard rumours of any consensus.
