Music superstar 2baba has declared July 11 as ‘Sound Sultan Day’ in honour of the late music icon.
Every year on July 11, which is the date late Sound Sultan passed on, fans from within Nigeria and around the world remember his music and legacy.
Announcing the day via his Instagram page, 2baba wrote: “That smile!!!!!! 11/July SOUND SULTAN DAY every year.”

Sound Sultan passed away on July 11, 2021 in the United States of America, after a sad battle with Angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma (AITL), a rare form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma was regarded as one of the pacesetters of modern hip hop music in Nigeria.
Before his demise, Late Sound Sultan was notable for using his music to speak against poverty, corruption, bad governance and societal ills in Nigeria
