34 arrested for cultism in Abuja

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Police Command has arrested 34 suspected cultists at a hideout in Gwako, Gwagwalada Area Council.

Spokesman of the command DSP Anjuguri Manzah said in a statement on Monday that the suspects were arrested around Gwako Hills.

Two locally-made pistols and some charms were recovered from the scene as exhibits.

The statement reads: “As part of the ongoing measures to curb the menace of cultism in the Federal Capital Territory, the FCT Police Command on Sunday, March 15, 2020 at about 0750hrs acting on a tip-off arrested some suspected cultists at their hideout in Gwako, Gwagwalada Area Council.

“Among the suspects arrested are current and former students of different tertiary institutions”.

The police said the suspects will be arraigned in court upon conclusion of the investigation.
