It is often said that the taste of the pudding is in the eating of it. For a veritable appreciation of the depth of the value being offered Nigerians by Globacom’s Recharge and Win Big promo aka “My Own Don Beta”, one needed to have experienced hard times to begin to appreciate what most winners of the promo experience. As it is commonly said, to appreciate light experience darkness.

Hardship is nobody’s friend. Signs of tension in an individual include empty pockets, furrowed brows, short temper, hopelessness, frowns, anxiety and listlessness. On the other hand, hope is an elixir, a tonic, an alchemy that gets your juices flowing again. The hopeful person sees life in beautiful colours. Everything inspires. The happy persons have springs in their steps, joy in their souls and smiles on their faces. Soothsayers are not needed to identify joy as joy is palpable, joy is infectious, joy is intoxicating. It is this joy that winners in the Glo My Own Don Beta promo have been displaying in various forms. At Ojuelegba, one of the winners of Keke Napep clutched the tricycle and pumped his other hand into the air to celebrate while another did a pantomime dancing without drums. Such is the power of rekindled hope!

In furtherance of its policy of empowering subscribers, Globacom, the quintessential “Talkando” has been putting smiles on the faces of Nigerians through its “My Own Don Beta” promo which started few weeks back.

The promo, which is designed to create hundreds of Nigerian entrepreneurs by giving them trade establishments tools like Keke Napep, industrial sewing machines, grinding machines and power generators, have been generating excitement throughout the country since the teaser campaign anchored by Nollywood giant, Odunlade Adekola  ringing bells to alert people about the promo.

In the same vein, another winner who is a tailor resident in Gwagwalada, Abuja sums up his feelings this way: “I received many calls that day but I could not pick because I was very busy. Eventually when I picked, I was told that I won Keke Napep which I did not believe until they gave the phone to Mama G (Patience Ozokwor) who asked me if I did not believe I won. I told her that I believe and I was told to come to the Glo office. I am very excited and don’t know what to say. I have won a Keke, courtesy of Glo, that is extra business which will bring in more money for my family.”

Another winner, Engineer Barnabas Amgba who won a generator commended Globacom for the transparent nature of the promo, exulting “I was full of joy when I got a call from a lady that I won a generator in Glo promo, My Own Don Beta. I am indeed excited. This is the first time I will win a prize in any promo. Thank you, Glo. I have also been enjoying Glo service in my area, the service is good”.

As usual, a representative of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission, Mr. Henry Uwadiae, who was at the venue to ensure fairplay in the promo said, “We are like a referee in this promo and we are here to ensure there is no foul play”.
