Rwandan President Kagame among four eminent Africans for OAU awards

REPUBLIC of Rwanda President Paul Kagame is among the four eminent Africans to receive the prestigious Honorary Doctorate degrees at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun State at its 44th convocation ceremonies holding holding from Wednesday, December 11 to Saturday, December 14, 2019.

A statement by the university’s spokesman Abiodun Olanrewaju said other awardees include Nigeria’s frontline marketing communications practitioner, Mr. Biodun Olusina Shobanjo; President of the African Export-Import Bank (AFREXIMBANK), Dr. Benedict Okey Oramah and Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of First Bank of Nigeria Plc, Mrs. IbukunOluwa Abiodun Awosika.

According to the statement, the OAU authorities considered the four eminent Africans for the awards because of their immense contributions to the socio-economic and political development of their immediate environments, countries, continent and the world.
