Assets declaration: Fed Govt charges ministry’s, agency’s directors

THE Federal Government has filed charges before the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) against the Acting Registrar General of Cooperate Affairs Commission (CAC), Lady Azuka Obiageli and a Deputy Director in Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports, Mohammed Hussaini Al-Hassan.

Obiageli has an 11-count charge filed against her, while a two-count charge was filed against Al-Hassan.

They are accused, in the charges signed on behalf of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) by officials of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), of breaching code of conduct provisions on asset declaration.

They are in alleged contravention of Paragraph 1, 9 and 11 (1) (a), (2), of the Fifth Scheduled, Part 1 and punishable under Paragraph 18 (1) and (2) of the Constitution.

CCT’s spokesman Ibraheem Al-Hassan said, in a statement yesterday in Abuja, the tribunal’s Chairman Danladi Umar had approved the scheduled for Obiageli and Al-Hassan to be arraigned on December 18, 2019.

The statement reads: “The 11-count charge was signed on November 27, 2019 by an operative of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), Musa Ibrahim Usman, who is also the prosecutor, for the Attorney General of the Federation.

“Similarly, on the same December 18, 2019, Al-Hassan is scheduled to be arraigned on a two-count charge, jointly signed by Omotolani Kolawole and Fatima Danjuma Ali, who are the prosecutors, on July 17, 2019.”
