The Director and convener of Ideal One, a Non-Government Organization (NGO), whose vision is to develop children, families and communities, Mr Michael Uchechukwu Nwozuru, has called on governments, parents and churches to take the training of children serious from tender age.

According to him, ‘’if you culture the young ones at a tender age, they become responsible leaders eventually’’.

Mr Nwozuru, whose NGO organized a Xmas party for children in the Ijeh Police Barracks, a suburb of Obalende, Lagos, on Saturday, urged parents to allow their children at tender age to be trained to become responsible leaders of tomorrow.

He said the objective of the party was to make the children of the area feel the impact of Christmas who might not know what Christmas was all about, adding that, ‘’we believe we have to give back to the society what we receive from it’’.

He said the major challenge is funding, but above all the other challenges include non- supportive attitude of parents who believe that only their teenage children can be trained for leadership positions not the one at tender age.

He noted that in Ideal One, we have what we call OC, The Only Club which is a literacy club where children who cannot afford to go for extra lesson can be taking care of, adding that , “we have standby lecturers to teach them once in a quarter or during summer at no cost ’’.

Mr Nwozuru, who has been running the NGO since 2011, commended the Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Sanwo- Olu, for his efforts to make Lagos clean, adding that, ‘’we at the Ideal One are trying to complement government’s effort in ensuring we live in a safe and clean environment’’.
