The residents of the Ibeju-Lekki-Idasan area of Lagos State have praised the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) for embarking on activities reducing road crashes in the area.
The residents praised the traffic agency through the Secretary of the Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA) during a party known as ‘durbar’ organised by the Refinery Unit Command of FRSC in the area.
He said that the appearance of FRSC officials at the critical corridors within the area had created fear in reckless drivers.
He appealed to the command to intensify its public enlightenment campaigns and enforcement that would always make roads safe for the users.

The Unit Commander, Soga Oseni, said the FRSC durbar “is meant to create an enabling environment for interaction among the FRSC staff.”
He appealed to the FRSC to discharge their duties effectively during the festive period in order to guarantee safety of all road users.
Letters of recommendation were given to officials who distinguished themselves in their duties.
The representative of the Dangote Group, the CSO, Dangote Refinery, retired AIG Umar Manko, hailed the FRSC for promoting deserving staff regularly, adding that it would encourage them to discharge their duties effectively.
He urged the Commission to ensure welfare of their staffs are utmost priority. He stressed his appealing to the staffs to discharge their duty in such a way the name of the organisation will not drowned the sea. “To whom much is given, much is expected”, he concluded.
In a related development, the FRSC Lunch Hour Christian Fellowship in Ojodu, Lagos, organised a prayer session to thank God for His mercy and ask for His protection.
The session, themed: “Above All,” was to celebrate the fellowship’s 26 years of its existence.
