Katsina State Police Command said on Thursday that four women and a male teenager, who were kidnapped on their farms at Mata-Mulki village in Batsari Local Government, have regained freedom.
Spokesman Superintendent Gambo Isa, in a statement to reporters, said that the command received a distress call about an attack by bandits who were armed with AK 47 rifles and abducted four women and a male teenager on a farm.

He said: “Our team pursued the hoodlums into the forest and engaged them in a gun duel. The bandits abandoned the victims and escaped. The team rescued Zahara’u Abdullahi, aged 16 and four women all of Mata-Mulki village in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State.”
The command also announced the arrest of robbery suspects by a patrol team attached to Faskari Division, who responded to a distress call about a group of armed robbers/cattle rustlers, who attacked the home of Ahmed Haruna, 30, of Kamfanin Daudawa village.
