Take me the way you find me
Plain and playful like a guileless spirit
Regard my knuckles on your stubborn door
Pluck my song beneath your eaves
Watch out for the knob
As it turns and turns
Don’t miss its light-copper glow
And rubbed-smooth delight
Love, they say,
Does not only make us wiser
Its sane design
Is to make us madder
Timid like a first kiss
The moistening murmurs of startled lips
And the warmth of the whisper
In the thresholds of the attentive ear
Give me a place
In the sanctuary of your softness
Let us play, oblivious
Of the Time’s relentless forces
Pamboto paba pamboto pa
Pamboto rigirigi pamboto gi
Come, let’s dance the day away while the universe
Still throbs like the drums of our blissful hearts
