Executive Chairman of Ejigbo Local Council Development Area in Lagos State Monsurudeen Bello has restated his mission to protect roads and other infrastructure under the council’s jurisdiction.

Bello spoke when he inspected reconstruction of Kashimawo Alimi road beside the council secretariat.

He said: “My job is to protect the roads and ensure they last. If our roads don’t last, people would blame it on our administration. Therefore, we have to give people what would make them happy for a long time. The council has a standard and it shouldn’t be compromised.”

The road has a drainage which extends to Oyibodudu, Prince Babatunde Street and a section of Rainbow Avenue. The road is also an alternative for motorists moving between Jakande Estate and NNPC Bus Stop.

Mechanics at the mechanic village (a link road between Kashimawo Alimi and Jakande) have been instructed to make their area accessible for motorists in the day pending the the time the project would be completed.

The chairman urged residents to be patient with government during the construction.
