CsFirst Lagos Edu Consult, an authorised Microsoft education partner, will hold a one-day conference/workshop for 500 teachers, school owners and others on 21st century education technology skills.
A statement by CsFirst Director and Convener of 21st Century Teachers Conference Uche Nwaobi said the conference would hold Saturday in Lagos.
Guest speakers include Babatunde Vaughan, Learning Delivery Specialist from Microsoft Nigeria; Business Development lead at WAKELET UK Nancy Ekpezu, and others.
He said the conference was a Microsoft-certified training for school administrators, lecturers, education consultants, undergraduates and government education agencies.
According to Nwaobi, participants would receive training on use of technology for teaching, learning, collaboration and management with latest methods of education technology in teaching and learning.
The conference will focus on newest Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies for connection-based learning – connecting classrooms worldwide.
His words: “Participants will be trained on virtual field trips, classroom flipping for collaborative learning and preparing future-ready students.

“Recent technological advances have affected many areas of our lives; the way we communicate, collaborate, learn and, of course, teach. Aside that, those advances necessitated an expansion of our vocabulary, producing definitions, such as digital natives, digital immigrants, global citizens, and 21st century teachers.”
Akpan Emmanuel, a co-founder of the organisation, said the illiterates of 21st century would not be those who could not read and write, but those who could not learn, unlearn and relearn.
“Teachers of the 21st century will not be mere teachers, but forward-looking educators who are aware of the ever-changing paradigm in technology, and are in tune with the future it brings to education…”
He said the one-day conference would be hands-on, with practical sessions on Microsoft OneNote, Office 365, Teams, Forms and Onedrive.
Other sessions will include Empatico, Flipgrid, Wakelet and other tools to enable teaching and learning become innovative, fun and creative to prepare future-ready students.
