SIR: Your office is charged with the weighty responsibilities of payment of salaries, allowances and other emoluments of federal workers captured under the IPPIS platform. I want to say categorically that as laudable the project seems to be, the bottlenecks around the payroll platform meant for the download of pay-slip and monthly monitoring of worker’s wages is suspicious. Deductions of workers’ salaries are done inaccurately, non-payment of accrued arrears of MDAs are some of the few challenges the Office of the Accountant general must look into.
To state it clearly, officers and men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps(NSCDC) under the Ministry of Interior had severally agitated for the payment of their arrears, and had made complaints to the management of the corps over the non-payment of the accrued arrears, but they have always responded that your office is responsible for the payment and likely delay in the payment of the arrears.
I am writing to appeal to the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation to explain the delay in the payment of the arrears to Civil Defense Corps when other sister agencies like the Nigeria Correctional Service, Fire Service and the Nigeria Immigration Service had been paid. And to quickly look into it for proper accountability.
