The National President of the Nigeria Union of Agricultural and Allied Employees (NUAAE), Comrade Simon Anchaver, has advised the Federal Government to reduce the Value Added Tax (VAT) on agricultural implements imported to the country.

He said the need to grant waiver or reduce tax on agricultural implements was urgent to make farming attractive to youths and prevent the looming food crisis in the country as a result of a lull in farming activities caused by the Coronavirus pandemic.
Anchaver, speaking during the delegates’ congress of Ekiti chapter of the union held in Ado-Ekiti, advised the government to prioritise agriculture, to reduce hunger and fast-track economic growth and development.
