THE Owa-Ale of Ikare in Akoko North East Local Government Area of Ondo State, High Chief Samuel Kolapo Adegbite-Adedoyin, has passed on. He was 85.
He was the traditional head of a quarter in the town for 48 years.
He died on Tuesday after a brief illness, it was learnt.
The deceased was a lawyer and the first educated Owa-Ale, who facilitated the establishment of eight secondary schools between 1978 and 1982.
He was Lay President of African Church Worldwide.
After studying law in the United Kingdom, he returned home for private practice before becoming the 17th Owa-Ale in 1972.
The Olona of Ikare, High Chief Rafiu Okunade, said the official pronouncement would be made after traditional rites had been carried out in line with the community’s norms.
