THE Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly and member representing Ikorodu Constituency I, Hon. Sanai Oyeniran Bolanle Agunbiade, has lifted the spirits of 60 widows in his constituency by gifting them the sum of N50, 000 each to commemorate his birthday. The beneficiaries also went home with two bags of food items each.

The widows, according to the organizers, were nominated across the division by the widows’ association, Community Development Associations (CDA), religious bodies, Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), political parties, traditional institutions, market associations, transport unions and social media influencers, among others.

The event, held at his constituency office during the week, had in attendance dignitaries including, Asipa Kaoli Olusanya, vice chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Agbaakin Ayo Elesho, a former commissioner in the state, wives of prominent monarchs in the division, party leaders, community leaders and representatives of various associations, among others.

It was praise galore for the lawmaker as people recalled the unwarranted attack on his abode by hoodlums during the #endsars protests. According to Asipa Olusanya and Mrs. Bridget Uleghe, Coordinator, Association of Widows in Ikorodu, Agunbiade remains one politician who does not joke with the welfare of his constituents.
