AS part of fulfilling its corporate social responsibility to its host community, the management of Atican Beach Resort, Eti-Osa, Lekki, Lagos, has embarked on the construction of a five kilometer road project.
The five kilometer road project valued at N12million was single-handedly bankrolled by High Chief Rasheed Atiku Abogun with some form of support from Mr. Shadrach Oyibo, owner of Whitedeck Beach Resort, also located within the Lekki axis.
Justifying the need for the project, High Chief Abogun said it was necessitated by a combination of factors.
Specifically, he said, he was compelled by the long-suffering and torture being experienced by motorists, along that corridor.
“For years, motorists and residents alike have had to endure all kinds of risks driving on that bad portion of the road at Eleko, which is supposed to serve as alternate access road from Eleko to Mekuwe, within the Eti-Osa Local Council Development Area.
One cannot say the state government is not trying but then the continuous neglect of that road was really a nightmare because it led to a lot of anguish for everybody,” the hotelier stressed.
