It was an afternoon of songs and praises recently, as popular gospel singer, Evangelist Ebenezer Fami aka Lekeleke Jesu, launched his newest album, titled, Ona Iye (Path to life).
According to the evangelist singer, who described himself as a full-time minister of God, the album, which is his fourth, following Omi leniyan (2010), Dada o da to isokan, and Ajeri Igbala.
Speaking exclusively with The Nation, Famisa said his inspiration as a gospel artiste and minister comes from God.
“My Inspiration comes from God almighty. Gospel comes from above; it is not something you just happen on or fabricate; so you need to calm down to get the message. It is a song/message on how to live life this present day and basically make people realise that with Jesus, all things are possible. We need to change our way of life as well as some of our orientations.”
Asked if the album is danceable or strictly for reflection purposes, Evangelist Famisa said: “It is danceable but the lyrics are the main attraction, as it seeks first and foremost to pass a message. As an evangelist of God, I am more about making people reflect on their ways and get closer to God.
On how rewarding ministering through gospel songs has been for him, Famisa said, “All reward comes from God and I believe with Him all things are possible.”
Tracing his background, Famisa said his gospel song took roots in Juju Gospel before he was inspired towards Gospel Lyrics.
Known more in the gospel music circle as Lekeleke Jesu, Famisa is a member of Gospel Musicians Association of Nigeria (GOMAN) and currently serves as protocol Officer under the chairmanship of King Segun Ajidara of Alimosho Zone 2.
