How Coronavirus pandemic impacted on KingKong Productions – Lekan Olaleye

Multitalented multimedia producer Lekan Olaleye, popularly known as King Kong, has revealed the positive impact of the Coronavirus pandemic on his company; KingKong Productions.

According to the serial entrepreneur, the lockdown period yielded some positive results after all.

He says, “During the Coronavirus lockdown, I focused more on the positive sides, I created more content and connected more with my audience which in turn yielded a huge number of following and returns.”

While hinting at his projections for KingKong Productions come 2021, Lekan Olaleye squeals his plans on a Netflix production.

“We have a movie project that will be executed early 2021, we have done the proofreading of the script and it’s a Netflix project. More productions, more skits, shows and tours. God spare our lives,” he noted.

Sharing insight on the inspiration behind KingKong Productions, he said, “Initially, KingKong Productions was inspired by music, but it grew to become a full entertainment outfit in the long run.”

He went on: “My first production was Bojuboju, a web series that is showing exclusively on my online streaming platform (Inakitv.vhx.tv) that is based on monthly subscriptions. It will soon be available on my YouTube channel (Lekan AgbaInaki) as a feature film. I am the executive producer of the web series and Dan Akinlolu who is my partner on the project wrote the script and directed the production.”

Asked reasons he focuses more on indigenous movies, Olaleye states, “I focus more on indigenous movies because my mother tongue is in the forefront of my brand’s innovation and fly the flag of my language and cultural values very high everywhere I go, more so, it’s my comfort zone.”

Looking back, Lekan Olaleye recalled the challenges confronting him when he started his production company. “It was tough getting the attention of the audience, but once I got their attention, we became friends and production became more confidently discharged because there is a ready audience always and God’s grace,” he recalled.
