A lawyer in Plateau State Gyang Zi, who was kidnapped by gunmen in Jos on Monday evening, has been freed.
Zi was said to be driving home after closing from work when the gunmen accosted him within Little Rayfield Government House area in Jos and abducted him.
Zi’s car was later found abandoned on an untarred road beside the fence of Government House on Tuesday morning.

The abduction had put the Jos branch of the Nigeria Bar Association in a fluster.
Police spokesman Ubah Ogaba confirmed the lawyer’s release, saying that a manhunt by security operatives for the kidnappers led to the rescue
But a family source told reporters in Jos that the senior lawyer was released on Tuesday after N10 million ransom was paid.
“The kidnappers after making contacts with the family demanded N10 million ransom. N8 million was initially raised but the kidnappers threatened to kill him, if by 9 am on Wednesday the money was not paid. But we thank God for people who rallied round and saved us from their threat,” he said.
